2009 CABARET

Sacred Heart High School's 19th annual Cabaret production took place on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.
Great talent was displayed by all the performers!

Students at Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton are gearing up for their 19th annual cabaret production. This year’s cabaret, entitled Closing Curtain at the Heart will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium, with the snow date being Thursday, November 26th.

The annual fun-filled show features a wide variety of student talent acts including vocal performances featuring pop, rock and ballads by contemporary artists. Various types of dance such as acro-jazz and baton will be showcased. Instrumental musical numbers including ensemble, guitar, piano and appearances by both grade nine and senior bands will round out the night’s entertainment.

What makes this talent show truly unique is the inclusion of an original student written script, which interweaves itself throughout the various performance acts. This year’s plot revolves around an award show full of glitz, glamour and celebrities all vying for the top prize in each of their performance categories. Their quest for fame and glory is interrupted when a mysterious masked man begins to create mayhem throughout the night. The stars must band together to unmask the phantom stalker before he closes the curtains on the award show for good.

Cabaret is a student driven production where students take the lead role in the planning, performance and production of the show. Vanessa Huber and Kristen Ruetz, this year’s producers, are co-producers and are busy working with the planning committee on ensuring that this year’s show will be the best yet.

Tickets for Closing Curtain at the Heart will go on sale at Sacred Heart High School’s main office beginning Monday, November 2, 2009. Admission prices are $9.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Students/Seniors and $3.00 for Children twelve and under. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
