Jr. Girls Volleyball

      The Junior Girls volleyball team travelled to Goderich the weekend of February 5, 2005 for the 10" Annual Junior Viking Invitational Volleyball tournament. The Crusaders played strongly in pool play finishing with 9 wins out of a possible ten, taking two out of two matches from Chesley, Goderich District Collegiate, St. Annes of Clinton, St. Marys of Owen Sound and splitting games with Mentor College of Mississauga.

      The girls went on to play the South Huron Panthers of Exeter in the semifinal match. The Crusaders lost the first game but rallied to win the next two games to move in to the championship game. The Heart recognized that they would have to play excellent volleyball to beat Rockway Mennonite College of Kitchener and came out with all guns blazing. The girls won the first game of the best of three match but lost the last two games in exciting fashion.

      Sacred Heart came home with the silver medal and received many compliments for their on court intensity and determination. Mr. Elphick would like to congratulate the girls for a fantastic effort. Players on Saturday included Stephanie Doerr, Cayla Eickmieir, Brandy Zettler, Jessica Busby, Meghan Wendorf, Tracey Ellis, Crystal Wyatt, Alana Lippert and Christy Pitt.
